Flight Nightmare
January 10th, 2007 by Anand
It was supposed to be a routine 3 1/2-hour flight from San Francisco to Dallas.
But this story really begins in Austin. That’s where several American Airlines flights were diverted the Friday of New Year’s weekend.
Passengers say the ordeal ended only after the pilot taxied to a gate without permission — 15 hours after the flight had boarded.

Can’t really believe the above story. I was once in similar situation during my consulting career. A normal 1 hr non-stop flight from Columbus, OH to Newark, NJ took 5 hours with stopover @ Cleveland, OH and Philadelphia, PA and that 2 not allowing passengers to disembark and use the toilet , nothing but water to drink. Lucky the AA passengers had pretzels to munch. I really don’t understand why they can’t taxi to a gate and allow the passengers to relax. 5 hrs is any-time better than the 15 hours ordeal the AA 1348 passengers went through. AA has got lot of explaination to do this passengers. Have lot of horrible experience flying with AA (MP3 PLayer gets stolen @ DFW from first class seat).
My rating for US Airlines:
Southwest
Jet Blue
United
Delta
AA
