That’s great to know. I have read from media reports that Indian kids do brilliantly in spelling bee contests. Last year’s tournament was telecast in a sports channel over here in India… Really amazing kids! Btw, is home schooling a trend in US?? Is it like how we do correspondence course over here in India?

Lot of people prefer home schooling

    Here we have three systems

    Public schools ( totally free)
    Private schools ( 2 costly)
Home schooling. U can teach your kid what (s)he likes, when (s)he wants. (more freedom).

I would not say that it is totally like correspondence but something similar where parents put more effort in the child’s education. Correspondence is more like study by yourself with the study material provided.

This was the first time that ABC had it telecasted on primetime ( 8 PM time slot). Last year we had it on ESPN.
