Hitch has arrived
May 14th, 2005 by Anand
After week long shopping for my hitch, a co-worker of mine referred me to speedycarparts.com where they sell hitches for all type of car. Looks like hidden- hitches have a monopoly on this segment. Any site that sells hitches is from this manufacture. I tried few local stores and the prices were enormous. Again it was a victory for eShopping against store shopping.
Received the hitch on Thursday and decided to fix it over the weekend and the labor cost to fix it was 2 high, roughly $80-$100. Weekend arrived. The day to fix the hitch had arrived. My engineering draw class helped me in understanding how the hitch had to be mounted and the things that are need to fix it. After initial inspection of my vehicle found that the holes were 2 small to fix the bolts. I had to use a wrench to make the holes big so that the bolts would easily slide in and hold the hitch strongly. Suggestion time on the spec sheet was 30-40 minutes. Ended up spending 2 hrs. Finally the hitch is ready so the bike is ready to go to the city. May be take my bike for a maiden ride to the lake close to my home.
Also found a link where I could order a hand rest for the front passenger side seat.
