Turkey in Vienna

May 1st, 2005 by Anand

It had been long time since we tried some nice Mediterranean cuisine after our last visit to Helmund in Baltimore.

I normally go through Washingtonian for restaurant reviews. I happened to come across Nizam’s in Vienna, VA. Since we were planning to take out one of our newly married friend and his wife for dinner, we decided this would be a nice place. Whenever we go out we make sure that we go to a place where they cook vegetarian food and not just convert a non-vegetarian dish to veggie.

I decide to call-up the restaurant to check if had to make reservation for Saturday night and “Yes” was their reply. Lucky me, smart decision to call them or else we would have waited for an hour for our tables. We were greeted by Nizam Ozgur @ the front desk who was dressed up like a doctor with his white apron. We ordered 2 different appetizer’s (Hummus Tahini Dip & Babaganush), which were awesome. The main course was Mixed Vegetable Kebab & Tavuk Shish Kebab. Ended out course with the traditional baklava desert.

Rating: Food: good;Ambience: good;Service: good;budget: $$$ (for 4)
